I love having wordpress on my iPhone

Hermes, our company cat, may has a broked leg, but he is recovering very nicely. Have a look at this closeup purr shot to see what I mean.

Getting drunk and love the internet? Then check out this “fun” Google drinking game, found by one of the team, Will “Smoker Bill” Greene.

Google Drinking Game:

1. Pick a player to go first – this player picks two words and types them into Google.

2. The player to the left next adds one word to the query. If the first player typed “deranged apple” and the second player adds “boilerplate” the query becomes “deranged apple boilerplate”. Less results will be returned than the previous query.

3. With each new player adding a word the pool of results will decrease. Eventually a query will return only one or zero results.

4. If a player’s addition leads to a single result, then everyone else has to drink. Of course the winning player may feel left out not drinking, so he or she allowed to bend the rules and take a little drink too, if he likes. After all, it is a drinking game. Check out the page too.  Theoretically speaking, I imagine it’s possible to land on a page not porn related, but unfortunately I can’t verify this from experience.

5. If the game never reaches a one result page and finishes instead on “Google could not find any results for your stupid query”, then everyone except the player who last returned a page of results has to drink. So, if I got 8 results, and then your results were “could not find any results”, the everyone except me has to drink.

Unfortunately, you just lost THE GAME

There you go, a “fun” new drinking game for all the Hermes Technologies Mozilla-loving readers. Remember, it’s not alcohol – it’s alco-lol.

For fellow ontologists out there, I’m all too aware that this post belongs in the “fun” category instead of the fun category, but I shrunk at the prospect of having to consider how many of my old fun posts were in fact “fun” posts, so I decided against lifting the lid on Pandora’s box.

After spending a lot of time with Jack trawling through multiple internetz in order to find amusing videos to distract ourselves from the joys of Oxford finals, I have collected a fairly impressive library of lols. Here are a few highlights:

1 ) Ladder Race

Simply bizarre! How does one find out that they have skills like these?

2 ) Awesome Skater (on crutches!)

This 16 year old is on crutches but still nails his tricks harder than Hulk Hogan nails his wife.

3 ) Danny Macaskill of Inspired Bicycles

This is an old favourite and over the last 6 months it has been watched more often than Jack Hammett has been mentioned the St Anne’s Beaver. Filmed in and around Edinburgh this April, Macaskill shows madder skills than the kid on crutches … No mean feat!

4 ) Shadow Puppets Gone Mad

A remarkable collection of shadow puppets to the sound of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World, guaranteed to make any woman go “Awww” and any man go “Fuck me, that’s impressive”.

5 ) Scaring School Girls Is Fun

This guy’s spooking is on par with Dan Bloch’s. You know it’s going to be worth a watch.

6 ) Gruesome Safety Video

If you want a lesson in being over the top watch this video, if you want a peaceful night’s sleep don’t.

7 ) Slow-Motion Schweppes Advert

This is one of the best adverts I have ever seen, and I have watched a heck of a lot of TV in my lifetime.

8 ) A Collection of Near Misses

A video with a tonne of cool stuff set to the tune of some funky trance music? Yes please!

9 ) Kitten Mirror Jump

How could I leave without giving you a cat video?

After the recent murder of a taxi driver in Bolivia police issued an e-fit of the suspect; here is what they came up with:

E-fit of suspect

As a population that (according to my close friend and Bolivian native Amaru Villanueva Rance) are “not renown for their ability to do things quickly”, the Bolivian police have demonstrated impressive efficiency with this case.  Having spent approximately 15 seconds creating this e-fit they may have saved up to 9 minutes and 45 seconds which could be used to catch the culprit. This technique has worked brilliantly as shortly after issuing the e-fit on the news (TV footage) they arrested a 23 year old man in connection with the incident.

Well done team, we can all learn lessons from you. Viva Bolivia!
